not all that glitters is gold

I made a few more boards. Cause I'm obsessed.

For a tutorial click here.

This is one that I had started earlier, but just finished this week:

This one is my favorite (at least for today). I love the look that the glitter adds to the board. So FUN.

Sadly, I'm a rookie when it comes to glitter application and had white glitter and sticky spray adhesive all over the place when I was finished.

Helpful Hint:
When using the glitter and spray adhesive combo, wear something you don't really care about...definitely NOT one of the three shirts that still fits you in your 9th month of pregnancy. Unless you like glittery shirts. A lot.

On this one, I got smart and used pre-glittered chipboard letters. Much less messy...

So I went to Michael's yesterday and wandered around aimlessly for awhile...I should have read your tutuorial one more time before I went because I had NO CLUE what I was looking for. I did get a wooden board, but not the ones you use, and I think mine might be too thick. Then I looked for Mod Podge, but they were out of all but the glitter one, and I wasn't sure about that. So I got a jar of stuff right next to it that I THINK (or hope) is similar. We'll see. So now I am going to embark on my first sign-making adventure. So, do you find the glitter letters in the scrapbooking section? I am such a novice at all of this but I'm determined to learn! :) Thanks so much for posting all of your creative cuteness.

Your joy plaque looks very familiar. I just got done making the give thanks to the Lord plaque and I used the same paper from basic grey. It turned out great. I think I may copy your joy plaque along with a couple other words for a christmas trio. Hope you don't mind my blog stalking, thanks for all the great ideas.

Hey Jackie -
I found the chipboard letters in the scrapbooking section. Some of them are sticky backs (I think that they are called "Thickers) and some of them need to be glued on. I use Glue Dots for that. Those are in the scrapbooking section too.

I saw the glittery mod podge too. Looks interesting. I bet it would be cute on the right project. I use Matte finish Mod Podge. I just like the look of it better.

On my Thanksgiving board, I used the thicker wood plaque, but use the thinner Lara's Crafts boards most of the time. Either one would work!

Happy Crafting! Post a picture on your blog when you are finished!!!

Thanks! I ended up taking my other glue-y stuff back and I got the real Mod Podge, and also picked up some of the Lara's craft boards. Now I just have to get up the courage to start. :)

ok. So i have spent an hour looking at all these craft ideas on your blog and they are all so stinking darling!!! Going back to school has zapped every ounce of creative, scrapping juices out of me. But, since I still have all my supplies, these ideas are do-able in a weekend, not like the never completed scrapbook....I am totally revived crafty wise. It makes your home seem....homey! I have an unopened bottle od modpoge cause I dont know how to use it...but i may just try today to learn!! :)
