questions about caillou

Why does this guy

have no hair?

Does anyone know?

He's FOUR years old. Should I feel bad for him? Does he have Alopecia? Is it super early male-pattern balding?

I googled him. No answers.

Avery loves Caillou. L-O-V-E-S him. He's her new obsession. Her Joey from NKOTB. Her Ricky Schroder. Her Kirk Cameron. Her obsession with Caillou even ranks above her obsession with Brobee from Yo! Gabba Gabba! and a certain purple dinosaur. It's love.

I have the feeling that one day, she will have the same questions that I do about our friend Caillou...or maybe not. It's possible that she thinks that all great-looking guys look like that.

Anyway, I'm just trying to be informed.

Here is the answer given on the publisher's website under FAQs: Caillou stands for all children. He doesn't have curly blond hair, a carrot-top, brown hair, glasses, or ethnic features, because he represents all children. We wanted to make Caillou universal so every child could identify with him. And they do! Caillou's baldness may make him different, but we hope it's helping children understand that being different isn't just okay, it's normal.

I have often wondered why he's bald too! Now if someone could just tell me why he's so whiny... Oh, that's answered on their website too. Great. Now I know. ;)

Oh, I loved Kirk Cameron!

Your post made me laugh! It's funny what shows kids like. For Evie, it's The Backyardigans. If you figure out why Caillou is bald, maybe you can tell me -- what the heck is Uniqua?

Brent asked me the same question! Glad I know the answer now!

LOL!!!!! My question is why is Dora's belly always showing. Could her cartoon man not draw a small little piece of clothing that covered her belly?

Cracking up at this! And also at Jen's comment above mine about Dora's belly...I wonder the exact same thing! :)

Ok, so when your hubby's picture popped up, Savannah was on my lap, and she said, "Who's that? That's Daddy!" Because, as you might have noticed her daddy is bald as well. Don't worry, though, she thinks Mr. Clean is her Daddy too. Kids!

I'm married to mister clean. He's awesome. Well, he's a bald janitor any way... I haven't convinced him to get an earing yet though. What's up with that?
Totally cracking up over the greatness of this post. :)

As a childhood cancer nurse, I have found him to be a very powerful friend to especially my kiddos who are 4 with no hair. I think Caillou is in his 3rd round of chemo...He acts just like the kids I cared for...laughing, playing and just loving being a kid:) Colin

OH GOODNESS, Colin. I guess I never thought of it that way. I'm sure that he is really special to kiddos who are struggling with cancer. That's pretty cool!

My mom tells me about Caillou because my nephew (who turned 2 last month) loves him. I never knew that's how you spelled his name. But they were all wondering about the baldhead as well. I will have to tell them!

Maybe one day when we are back in the US Seth will get to watch him. I hear all the kiddos just love him!
