today's craft has been brought to you by the letter "K"

This is my sister's birthday gift.
She turned 18 a couple of weeks ago.
Yes. I'm a total slacker and haven't given her the gift yet.

Isn't she a total DOLL?

I adore her.

I made the "K" to go in her room. The room that she will only be living in for a few more months since she'll be heading off to COLLEGE this fall.

When I started college, she was just 4.

When I started college, the Spice Girls had a hit song on the radio.
I actually jammed out to "Mmmm Bop".
I took over an HOUR to get dressed to go anywhere.
I had never heard of Raffi, Laurie Berkner, or The Wiggles (say it ain't so!)
I had at least 3 silky shirts because that's what Jennifer Aniston wore on Friends.
My hair was...blonde. For a semester or two.
I drank REAL coke - not Diet Coke.
There wasn't a Starbucks on every corner. In fact, I'd never even entered a Starbucks.
Adidas shoes were soooo cutting edge.
I thought that 21 was old.
Northface jackets and Vasque boots were worn even if you had no intention of EVER hiking.
I wasn't ashamed to listen to Hootie and the Blowfish
I still had a Walkman.
I only had like 4 friends who actually owned a cell phone.
Those same 4 friends were the only ones I knew that actually owned a computer - and it was purely used for word processing.

I'm seriously o-l-d.

Speaking of old, I'm turning 32 on Monday.
I actually REMEMBER when my mom was 32.
Pathetic.

Anyway - Happy belated birthday to my sweet, adorable, funny sister.
Hope you enjoy your little birthday "happy"!
I love you!

Ya know, my name starts with a K too...and I have a b-day coming up...cough cough. :) You are way to cute and sassy to be old. I'm 22, so I can be the judge of that. The K is lovely.

Your list is taking me back! My brother turns 18 in May and is leaving for college in the fall too! I can't believe it.

I do still drink Real Coke though, I can't give that up.

Super cute K....and your sis is pretty cute, too!

Ahh, the silk shirt. I had one that was bright orange and pink...it made a statement. ;-)

At 18 I couldn't even fathom being 26....that was SO OLD. Now I think it's not too shabby!

I LOVE this craft idea!

So, how'd ya do it? Paper and ModPodge? Please don't hold out on me!

Your sister is adorable!
I think any girl would love their initial in their dorm. Or, maybe I get too excited about typography! :)

I just turned 32 a couple weeks ago, and I LOVE it. Yes, I'm weird...I actually like getting older. I think it stems from being the baby of 5 children...but whatever. Happy early Birthday!

Your "k" turned out fabulous! I love those papers. I use those two quite frequently. And you got all fancy and even covered the sides with paper. That is dedication!

Happy Weekend ~ Amanda

Hi, I just stumbled across your blog. May I ask where you found that K?? I've been looking for a large one for our house (Our last name begins with a K)and I love the look of yours.

32 isn't old...(I'm 36!) You're only as old as you feel. Some days I feel 21 other days I feel 71! LOL

She's a doll...but then, so are you. :) Guess it runs in the family.

Love what you did with the K, little Miss Crafty Thang.

And I turned 32 in Dec. so I know the feeling. Crazy, huh?

You are not old. Because if you are o-l-d, then that means that I am o-l-d-e-r. I'll be 34 next week.

Let's take a closer look at your list, shall we? Adidas is still cool, as is wearing Northface sans hiking, and Jennifer Aniston still knows her stuff when it comes to fashion.

I like to think that we aren't old...we are just improving with age. Besides, I see some pretty darling kids in your sidebar that I am sure were not part of your package deal during your twenties.

Happy Birthday to your sister!!!

So glad that I was able to discover your lovely blog through SITS. Welcome!
